This is the entry point to the northwest region of the island. The name El Time dates from the time of the ancient natives and means “high place”. From the side of the main road LP-1, this natural look-out offers a panoramic view of the largest canyon of the island, the Barranco de las Angustias, and the Aridane valley. From the Caldera de Taburiente, and the mountain range that leads to the south point of the island, to the western coast line from Puerto de Tazacorte, Puerto Naos and Charco Verde all the way to Fuencaliente. At El Time there is a souvenir shop and a cafeteria with a terrace facing the valley. It is also interesting to note that the official hiking path GR 131 comes down through El Time and continues from there on down to the harbour of Tazacorte.
