The necessity of preparing bananas for overseas shipment has led to the construction of special installations like this one. The storehouse of Pedro Gómez neglected for several decades, is still an interesting place to visit, mainly because of the old cable way with which the bananas were transported from this high plateau to the harbour of Tazacorte, almost 300 meters further down. This unique construction saved a lot of time and effort but did not stand the test of time. The storehouse can be reached following the GR 131 hiking path. From here, a beautiful view over the whole bay can be enjoyed.
