This festival takes place in the neighbourhood Aguatavar. Also known as “Fiesta de la Cruz del Pinillo” (celebration of the pine needle cross), it is held on an ancient Camino Real (royal path), close to the old school, and is organized completely by the local population. Among the most important events is the procession with the Holy Cross to the local square, the Plaza de Aguatavar, where the festivities are being held, nowadays. This place was traditionally a resting area for the farmers, when they came down from the mountains after a day of hard labour. Special events are organized for the children, and concerts of local bands for the youth.
