Playa de la Veta

Due to its topography, La Palma does not possess large beaches. But quantity and quality are two different things, as can be seen in this little cove with black sand. The size of the beach changes according to the season, being large in summer and small in winter. It is located in the neighbourhood of Aguatavar and can only be reached by foot: take the paved road which almost reaches the cliffs, then follow a small hiking path down for about fifteen minutes. As with al the beaches on the island, watch out for currents that can pull you out into the Atlantic.
